Booking flights

You book your own flights to Kenya — we help you choose sensible arrival times and routes so airport transfers run smoothly.

Where to fly

Most volunteers fly into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi. Our team meets you on arrival and transfers you to Nanyuki. Share your flight details with us as soon as they are confirmed.

Tips for booking

  • Aim for daytime arrivals when possible — transfers are simpler and you arrive fresher
  • Build in buffer time for connections and baggage delays
  • Choose flexible or changeable tickets if your dates might shift
  • Book return flights that match your confirmed programme end date
  • Keep digital and paper copies of your itinerary for orientation

What we arrange

Airport pick-up and drop-off are included in your programme fee. We cannot book flights on your behalf, but our team will advise on arrival windows, overland options if needed, and how to stay reachable on landing day.

Visas

Visa requirements depend on your nationality and stay length. We provide guidance, but you are responsible for applying and paying visa fees. Start early — some nationalities need more processing time.
