Sending your son or daughter to volunteer in Kenya is a big decision. Here is how My Experience Africa supports young adults every step of the way — so you can feel confident while they grow.
Our programmes are designed for participants aged 16+ with structured placements, vetted partners, and a full-time local team in Nanyuki. We have welcomed volunteers for over a decade and prioritise safety, communication, and meaningful work alongside Kenyan communities.
Volunteers can stay in touch with home via mobile data and Wi‑Fi in Nanyuki. Our team is available around the clock if something urgent comes up. We encourage parents to agree check-in routines with their traveller before departure, while giving them space to build independence.
We only work with trusted local partners and carefully selected accommodation. Participants receive a safety briefing during orientation. Programmes involving children follow clear conduct expectations. For medical needs, our staff know reliable local care providers and will assist if your child becomes unwell.
