How we keep you safe

Safety underpins every placement. From partner selection to 24/7 local support, we build systems so you can focus on the experience.

Our approach

We operate in areas where we have established local partnerships and staff on the ground. Accommodation and project sites are checked for suitability. You receive a safety and cultural briefing during orientation in Nanyuki.

24/7 support

  • Full-time local team available day and night
  • Clear emergency contacts shared before and on arrival
  • Assistance finding medical care if you fall ill
  • Guidance for weekends and independent exploration
  • Coordination with families when serious issues arise

Your part

Follow staff guidance, local laws, and common-sense travel habits. Arrange comprehensive insurance before you leave. Share accurate medical information with us. Trust your instincts and speak up early if something feels wrong.

Female travellers

Many women volunteer with us independently each year. You will have peer company and staff support. We provide practical cultural advice during orientation. As anywhere, stay aware of surroundings and dress respectfully for local contexts.
